Interested to know what shiatsu is?
Shiatsu, often called “finger pressure”, is a Japanese acupressure technique. It’s not only the pressure of the fingers, but the thumbs, palms, elbows, knees and feet are all used to massage the key meridians (energy channels) in your body. Your limbs are gently rotated and stretched, releasing muscular tension and stimulating your immune system. It feels great. And best of all, Japanese modesty requires you keep your clothes on.
It awakens your body, leaving you feeling alive and energised. You’ll feel like you’ve had a whole night’s rest.
- Promotes healthy sleep
- Reduces accumulated stress and fatigue
- Increases overall vitality, stamina and energy which improves overall quality of wellbeing
- And similar to a yoga practice, regular shiatsu promotes resilience
Anne is a qualified shiatsu therapist with over 15 years’ experience. Complementing this, she also holds a qualification as an Alexander Technique teacher and registration with NCNZ as an enrolled nurse with more than 5 years of community experience. Her aim with shiatsu treatments is to offer a quiet nurturing environment in which people can regain a feeling of deep rest and restore their energy. Treatments are tailored according to each individual’s particular needs.
With a deep respect for other modality’s, allopathic and complimentary Anne works collaboratively and will always refer on if she thinks there will be benefit for the client.
Outside of shiatsu, Anne’s interests include ongoing learning, yoga, meditation, tramping and music.
Anne looks forward to meeting you and being able to share the wonderful benefits of shiatsu therapy
